Meal Train
Our church's Meal Train program helps us bring meals to people in the church when they are in need: when people have a new baby, when they are having health issues, or when they are grieving. Because the church is a place for both spiritual and practical connection, we need to both give and receive spiritual and practical help. A meal train is a way to meet both types of support. Providing meals to one another is perhaps the simplest and most fundamental way to show that your faith leads you to care for and support others. A meal is practical, but it is also a reminder that you are part of a community that loves you, whatever you are going through.
Allowing yourself to be open and accepting of a meal or other support allows everyone else in the congregation to "Rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn." I know it can be hard to accept a meal from someone. Fight that urge. We want to celebrate with you when you have a new baby, mourn with you when someone in your family dies or you end up in the hospital, or even just work alongside you when you're going through finals week or are overwhelmed at work.
