Formation at St. C’s

Education
We're fond of the journey image for the Christian life at St. Christopher's, and we're convinced that the point of the journey is that we never arrive. There is always more to consider, more to learn from one another, more to glean from books and teachers of the faith. We encourage you to take advantage of classes, retreats, forums, small groups, our parish library and other resources. We don't want you to check your brain at the door - your questions and doubts are welcome. Intergenerational activities include the Caroyln Carnot and Betty Nied Memorial Library, Welcome To St. C's tours and opportunities to join our congregation.

Children from infant through 6th grade may participate in the Little Lamb's Nursery and the Episcopal Children's Curriculum.

Youth Formation tells you more about our youth program.

Adults may participate in Sunday Morning Adult Forum and the Spirituality of Daily Living, two Bible Encounters, and groups meeting monthly and seasonal events. Adults can also assist as teachers and leaders for our community.

Children’s Formation
We are teaching from the Episcopal Children's Curriculum, with special projects and service days included in the calendar. For more information on the Episcopal Children's curriculum, click here.

If your child is 3 years old, they are eligible for Sunday School! The youngest kids have fun learning traditional Bible stories, which [somehow] always relate back to PawPatrol.

There will be three classrooms, led by adults and assisted by teens:
Age 3-Kindergarten will be led by Alex Baig, assisted by two teens.
Grades 1-3 will be led by Mara Maas and assisted by teens.
Grades 4-5 will be led by Jen Enriquez and assisted by teens.

Anyone who would like to volunteer on an occasional basis is welcome to do so. Please contact Jen Enriquez if you would like to read the story or help with a special project sometime, or if you just have questions about the program and how your child might fit in.

Youth Formation
Are you a St. Chris family with a pre-teen or teen? You are invited to join our youth groups in the fall! We have two youth groups: Sojourners (for middle school students or freshmen/sophomores in high school) and Confirm not Conform (for juniors/seniors in high school). We meet every week on Sunday mornings for fellowship and learning, and we serve the Oak Park and Chicago communities throughout the year as volunteers. Come join us for fun, friendship, and community!

Got questions or not sure which group your child should join? Contact Jen Enriquez or call (708) 856-4166.
