A Nifty Swifty Church Family Movie Night at 6PM

Join Rev. George and the Swifties of St. C.’s for a Taylor Swift themed movie night with dinner. We’ll watch the first two-thirds of a Taylor Swift flick and have some food and fellowship.

Lent is a time for “self-examination and repentance, prayer, fasting, and self denial.” Might seem like a Nifty Swifty movie night might not be in the cards for such a season, right? Well maybe think of it this way. Lent is a time set apart where we think intentionally about our faith and life. It’s a time for different practices and different ways of thinking.

For this movie night, deny those things that would keep you from community and knowing your neighbor, especially our young folks who were the impetus for the night. Deny what Lent is “supposed” to be and ask what you need it to be. Whatever is keeping you from living the life God’s calling you towards, maybe you should just shake it off.
