Spark Children’s Workshop
The SPARK curriculum uses a rotation model that allows us to spend between four and six weeks on a particular Bible story. Each week, the children experience the Bible story from a different perspective. In a four-week cycle, for example, the workshops for children in first grade through fifth grade include: art, music, Bible skills and games, creative drama, science and video. This allows us to accommodate and engage kids with different learning styles.
Preschoolers and kindergarteners experience Bible storytelling and an art project each week, with music and games if time allowed. With the older kids, the lessons that include creative drama are a big hit. The kids make scenery and choose their own costumes. There is some pretty great ad-libbing going on at these sessions! Bible games and art are also popular workshops.
The workshop sessions are more fun with more children, and all are welcome!
